The 24th annual Greater Lafayette Holocaust Remembrance Conference will be held at Purdue University during a week-long period, April 10-16, 2005. Our observance this year is especially significant since it comes on the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The conference theme will be "We Remember-60 Years After Liberation."

The 2005 GLHRC Conference, We Remember- 60 Years After Liberation begins on Sunday, April 10th at 1:30 PM in Purdue University's Stewart Center, Room 214. Speakers that afternoon will be Prof. Geoffrey Giles of the University of Florida speaking on, "Purifying the `Master Race': Nazi Struggles for Ending Homosexuality" and Zev Weiss, a survivor and President, Holocaust Education Foundation, will share his thoughts, "Reflection on the Past and Apprehensive About the Future." There will be several Workshops following their presentations. On Tuesday, April 12, Prof. Paul Benhamou will discuss, "the New Anti-semetism in France." On Wednesday, April 13, The movie Rosenstrase will be shown followed by a discussion led by Prof. Steven Carr, IUPUFW Dept. of Communications. The final program, on Sat., April 16, will be a special one woman show by Claudia Stevens, "An Evening with Madame F." This is a musical drama created by Claudia Stevens for her own performance as pianist, singer, and actor. It depicts the struggles and moral dilemmas of artists who survived in Auschwitz.

You are invited to participate in a week of FREE events. In addition, there is a Sunday, Hebrew National Deli SUPPER ($5 person, $3 students). The conference, brings together high school and college students, faculty, and community. It is supported by local businesses and you. Your contribution helps fund this Conference.
